Updates

Wow, OK so it’s been over a month since my last blog post. Two months, in fact. Yikes. I had planned yet again to resume regular Blogging Fridays, and again…didn’t. One of these days I’ll figure out the secret of more consistent blogging as planned. 😜

But for now, let’s get to why I’ve (again) suddenly disappeared from nearly all social media for the past couple of months.

It started with Camp NaNoWriMo and The Dare back in July. Naturally, one might disappear from social media during a writing frenzy such as NaNoWriMo, or Camp NaNoWriMo…or if you’re one of those weird individuals who can crank out a novel in less than a week. Seriously, y’all are some freaks of nature. And I mean that in the best possible way. I’ve been working on one novel in particular for over nine years now, and I’m still nowhere near finished with it, so I applaud those of you who can sit your butt down and get the writing done. I wish I was as disciplined and skilled to do that as y’all.

But I digress. Sadly, cranking out The Dare did not go as planned. Again. It would seem my characters are being extremely difficult, and not at all in a good way. I know they’re antagonistic, but this is kind of ridiculous. It’s been a little over a year now that this story has been begging to be written, and I’ve still made little progress on it. Maybe I have the wrong word count goal, or the story is still simmering and it’s not quite time to be written yet. Who knows? I do know that it will probably continue to nag me until it’s written. Until then, I think I’m going to let it breathe and try to figure out my characters a little more in hopes that it won’t feel quite so much like pulling teeth to write it. Oh, and I’ll be keeping busy by doing a lot more brainstorming for my current WIP… 😉

I mentioned about a couple of months ago on Instagram that I was working on some much needed updates to my website, and I can happily say now that I have a few of them done! There are still a couple that will be up later, but for now, there is a page up featuring the various stories I have up on Wattpad, as well as a resources page that will continue to be updated as I find more resources to share. There’s already several goodies up on the resources page now, so be sure to go check them out!

And the last update is that I’m adding my Etsy shop to the social bar. I’ve been making jewelry on the side for a while now, and I have loads of new things that I’ll be adding to my shop soon (seriously, you should see the mountain of supplies I have…), but I do have a few things up now. It’s a little all over the place right now, but I am going through some updating for my shop. I have a few fandom pieces up now, and once I’m done updating, there will be lots more (most of my supplies are DisneyBound related).

I have quite a few things that will take more time before they’re ready, but I’m shooting for late October (hopefully just in time for November aka NaNoWriMo).

Basically, I’m doing a ton of behind the scenes sort of stuff right now, and have been for months and months. Hence why I’ve been disappearing more frequently on social media over the past couple of months. I’m so swamped with everything, it tends to be a bit difficult to balance a presence on social media along with actually getting things done. One of these day, I’ll figure that one out though. I know I’m excited to share more with y’all as things move along and get done!

If anyone has any tips on prioritizing, or how to manage time so you don’t feel quite so crazed, please let me know in the comments! I’ll need all the help I can get over these next few months.

Back to brainstorming…
Liz

PS: I am still planning on vlogging soon, but perhaps I shouldn’t have announced it until I had filmed my first vlog and had it ready to post the following week. It’s been a crazy summer for me, both with all the behind the scenes work, but also because it’s the worst part of the year for me with migraines. I would say 99% of mine are light sensitive, and the summer heat hasn’t helped this year. That being said, I definitely haven’t forgotten about the vlogs. I’m thinking right now that once fall gets here, and things sort of settle down again, I’ll try again.
